Necktie
The wearing of the classic silk DU Biological Association tie at college events and on clinical attachments is a long-standing tradition among med students in College. In recent years, the ties have been less readily available, but we are overjoyed (no, really!) to announce that ties can now be bought through the shop at the Old Library—that’s the place you go to see the Book of Kells. If you prefer you can order online through the library shop website.
The committees of the Trinity College Medical Association (for graduates and staff) and of the DU Biological Association have agreed that the tie which was created for members of Biosoc may be used by members of both associations. A great memento for alumni or for graduating students about to leave Trinity, and for those still working in TCD-affiliated hospitals, be sure to pick one up.
What’s more, Biosoc members get a special price! A discount of 20% is available to anyone who produces their Biosoc membership
card in the library shop in College or who orders online by emailing
nphelan@tcd.ie with a scan of their membership attached. Ties are €28 at the
discount price.
